Lucas gave Disney its history projects for the new trilogie3. The "following" Episode VI had already been drafted in a novel by Timothy Zahn, Heir to the Empire (1991), recognized by George Lucas in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and part the "official canon" 4.5. Jay Rasulo, chief financial officer of The Walt Disney Company also announced that the film has a film treatment (concrete project with draft script) 5.
